Eventize Chrome extension - Privacy Policy

 

1. Introduction

Eventize is a Chrome extension that transforms any text to Google Calendar event in one-click with support of AI. This privacy policy explains what data is processed, how it is handled, and what controls users have.

2. Data Processed

​

The extension processes only the minimum data required for functionality:

  • User's Google email address. Used for authentication and authorization purposes.

  • Selected text from the webpage. Used to extract event information.

 

3. Data Handling

​

  • No personal data is stored on Eventize servers

  • The Google email address is securely managed by Google services

  • Selected text is processed by Google AI services but not stored permanently

 

4. Data Security

​

  • All processing and storage rely on secure Google services

  • All communications are encrypted via HTTPS

 

5. Browser Permissions Used

 

Side Panel:


This permission allows the extension to display a persistent friendly UI in the browser's side panel.

The side panel provides:

  • User authentication feature

  • A FAQ section to help users understand extension functionality

  • A button for user support and feedback


Context Menu:
 

This permission enables the extension to add a "Create Google Calendar Event" option to the browser's "selection context menu".

This way users can highlight any text containing event information (such as "Meeting with John tomorrow at 3 PM"), right-click and create Google Calendar event in one click.


Identity:


This permission enables extension to implement "Authentication through Google" feature. The extension uses the following methods of chrome.identity API:

  • chrome.identity.getAuthToken

  • chrome.identity.removeCachedAuthToken

6. User Controls

​

  • Sign in: Authorizes the extension to obtain a temporary OAuth token and access your Google email address, which are required for creating calendar events on your behalf

  • Sign out: Immediately revokes the OAuth token and clears all locally stored session data from your browser

  • Uninstall: Completely removes the extension from your browser and terminates all data processing activities
